The earlier diaries cover his visits to Germany and Austria in 1869 and 1889 and include some photographs and newspaper cuttings, while the later diaries document his travels in England between 1916 and 1919, notably in Shropshire, Hertfordshire and Devon. Again they include many newspaper cuttings and photographs, and also some of Plummer’s reflections on World War 1.
